Meeting Highlights:
Sheriff Budrow proposes an increase of .2% in the county’s sales tax to fund public safety expenses. The increase would sunset in eight years. He’d like the proposal to be on the ballot this November. The commissioners feel there isn’t enough time to plan a budget for the new funds or to get public input for a tax increase. Sheriff Budrow will do more due diligence and the commissioners will consider a sales tax increase on the ballot sometime in 2024.
The meeting adjourns for the day at 10:19.
