12.30.2025 Tues AM BOCC
Meeting Highlights:
To save time at the first BOCC meeting of the year, the commissioners decide that Commissioner Hover will be the chair and Commissioner Timm will be the vice-chair in 2026. Commissioner Neal will continue as the county representative to the Legislative Steering Committee of the Washington Association of Counties.
Josh Thomson, County Engineer gives the Public Work update. He says that the WSDOT expects to have the Hwy 20 washout between Winthrop and Mazama opened up in two weeks, but the repaired section will be a gravel surface. They’ll pave the road in the spring.
Esther Milner, Chief Civil Deputy Prosecutor, Danielle Marchant, Attorney for OBHC and the commissioners discuss the OHBC contract negotiations.
Tom Even, Veterans Services, updates the commissioners on the organization’s activities last month. Commissioner Neal mentions that he saw a friend in Home Depot recently who said that the county’s Veterans’ Services Office helped him learn how to navigate the Veterans’ Bureau website.
