Meeting Highlights:
Commissioner Timm has made a presentation to the County Republicans about the county’s budget and will make the same presentation to the County Democrats Monday evening.
Commissioners hear from John Butler who tells them about the homeless camp behind the Okanogan Flour Mill. He says they’re breaking into trucks, spreading garbage and scaring away potential customers of local businesses. The commissioners will try to find some way to ameliorate the situation by involving Public Health, the Sheriff’s Department and the Housing Coalition.
Maurice Goodall, Emergency Management, has provided sand and empty bags for people in Mazama whose homes could be in danger of flooding.
Commissioners hear from Matthew Partners and others from the Colville Confederated Tribes (CCT). They are seeking grant money to build wastewater treatment infrastructure and ask the Commissioners to sign a letter in support of their grant application. The commissioners have read the letter and are happy to sign.
Meeting adjourned at 11:53.
