10.22.2024 Tues AM BOCC

Meeting Highlights: 

• Public Comment: Ruth Hall asks about the County Burn Ban. It is expected to be lifted at 12:01 am this Friday the 25thof October.

• On Zoom discussion with Aero Methow/Methow Valley Emergency Management Services (EMS) District, the Town of Twisp, and the Town of Winthrop to discuss how best to handle money from levies and for towns to possibly contract directly with the EMS/Aero Methow, rather than continue to go through the County.

• Public Works update from County Engineer

• Beginning discussion of a proposed ordinance to manage homeless encampments including the Sheriff’s staff, Civil Deputy, County Engineer, and HR/Risk Manager. More discussions to follow on making policy. Currently, an encampment needs to be cleaned up in Oroville.

• BOCC approves the Tonasket and Methow Valley EMS Districts budgets.

• Adjourn at 11:59. BOCC to meet tomorrow, Wednesday starting at 10:00 for budgeting sessions.
