Meeting Highlights:
• No public comments
• Discussion of Tonasket Emergency Management Services (EMS) levy and BOCC considering combining Tonasket and Oroville EMS Districts. December 13th is the cutoff for February election.
• Finance Committee with County Treasurer and Finance Manager: 1. finishing up September finances. Investment rate dropped to 4.88% in October, Treasurer able to lock in rate for some investments, in preparation of more lowering of the rate. 2. Aeneas Irrigation District finances and upcoming budgeting process 3. Gate receipts at the fair lower than last year- $8,800.00 4. preparation for sale of tax title property in Winthrop - .16 acre, unable to build on by itself due to being in 5 acre minimum zone.
• Update from Sheriff’s Office Communications/Dispatch Deputy; 1. need letter of intent to award bid on the Sheriff’s/Coroner building of $4.2 million to Halmic (sp?) Construction, dependent upon ARPA funding. Need to locate the septic. 2. Sheriff is considering moving radio techs to that building. 3. Have just filled 12 of 13 positions. 4. Considering AI training to be able to determine how we are doing in answering calls. It is looking promising.
• Executive Session for 13 minutes with Dispatch Deputy and HR/Risk Manager regarding Union negotiations.
• Board approves renewal of Okanogan Irrigation District Waterline franchise.
• Public Works update by County Engineer: 1. preparing roads for winter, hauling sand 2. Foster Bridge repair to begin next week. 3. Mazama paving project is completed. 4. looking at start date for Loomis kiosk. 5. purchase of 2 dump trucks and a water truck.
