Meeting Highlights:
Gen Dial (SCJ Alliance) and Kurt Danison (Highlands Associates) update the commissioners on the progress in reviewing the county’s Critical Areas Plan. The plan must be updated periodically and then reviewed to make sure it still adheres to current RCWs, WACs, the Commerce Checklist, Best Available Science literature, Agency guidance and FEMA/NFIP (National Flood Insurance Program) standards.
The commissioners and Pete Palmer meet with Officers Schneider and DeLeon of the Yakama Office of the Liquor and Cannabis Board. Commissioner Neal wanted to discuss two licensed growers burning garbage (during the county-wide fire ban, red flag warning, and statewide emergency declaration) and possible consequences for such fires.
The commissioners met with a number of cannabis growers and Roni Holder-Diefenbach of the Economic Alliance. County Watch was unable to cover this session.
