Lanie Johns updates the commissioners. Asks that an unfilled half-time position for a custodian be changed to a six-month full-time position for grounds maintenance. Commissioners make the change. Maurice Goodall, Emergency Management, has nothing to report. Commissioner Hover says “No news is good news.”
Naomi Peasley, Fairgrounds Manager updates the Commissioners about various water and electrical problems at the Fairgrounds. The Beef Barn needs a new roof. The fair is just a few weeks away.
The mother of the Fair Queen shows the Commissioners several pages she’s printed from the county’s website showing contradictions about the requirements of the Queen. Also, she shows another page showing that the Queen should receive a scholarship, but that last year’s Queen has not received any money. Commissioner Hover says he’s unaware of a scholarship, but he’ll look into the matter. If the county has promised to pay, they will pay.
Commissioners adjourn at noon until Tuesday at 9:00 AM.
