06.27.22 AM & PM - BOCC

Meeting Highlights: 

55:05 Pete Palmer and Commissioners discuss creating sub-areas and planning advisory committees in the Methow Valley. Also they begin to discuss rezoning project in the Tunk Valley. Commissioners return to the Tunk Valley topic several times during the day. Propose a moratorium on subdivisions until the rezoning is completed.
1:31:35 Commissioners hear an unscheduled quarterly update from the Okanogan County Veterans’ Relief Board. More Tunk discussion after the update has ended.
1:51:50 Commissioners are introduced to Matt Marsh, new District Ranger for Tonasket Ranger District and hear the quarterly update. Commissioners hope the Forest Service will soon update its Travel Management Plan so WATVs can be accommodated. Brief discussion of Tunk Valley issue.
2:50:30 Commissioners agree to establish a referral incentive program for county employees to facilitate hiring for the Sheriff’s Office.
3:21:10—Commissioners discuss budgeting procedures for American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. They list the projects they have approved. Afterwards, the commissioners discuss the Tunk Valley zoning issue for a final time.
