Meeting Highlights:

  • During public comments, Raven Aae askes the commissioners what follow-through they’ve done for her multiple communications with them regarding domestic violence and no-contact orders. JN says he will discuss the situation with the Sheriff.

  • The Finance Committee update:The Aeneas Lake Irrigation District has made great strides in clearing up its $300,000 debt. Pam Johnson, County Treasurer, says she’ll meet with them once more in November, and that may be all.
The committee is concerned that they haven’t heard about the county’s PILT (Payment in Lieu of Taxes) money from the USFS. The amount they’re hoping to receive is between $3,000,000 and $3,300,000.
They recently heard a sales pitch from a New York company, Walter Auditing, promising to be able to save the county money in its 2026 budget. Commissioner Neal wonders if they are at all familiar with Washington’s procurement regulations and Pam Johnson wonders if it’s too good to be true.

  • Josh Thomas, County Engineer, gives the Public Works update for the week.

  • Meeting adjourned for lunch at 11:36.
