06.03.2025 Tues AM BOCC

Meeting Highlights: 

· Superior Court Judge Kathryn Burke and Court Administrator Yadi Godina talk to the commissioners about Superior Court matters, including new legislation about tribal warrants.

· The county’s Burn Restriction went into effect Friday, June 6, 2025.

· Commissioners hope to get a .3 public safety tax issue on the ballot. A portion of the tax would go to incorporated areas. Sheriff Budrow has been urging the increase.

· Roni Holder-Diefenbach, Executive Director of the Economic Alliance, and the commissioners discuss establishing a port district in the county. They also discuss ways to reduce the number of dilapidated or vacant buildings in the downtown area of incorporated towns.

· Josh Thomson, County Engineer, updates the commissioners about the Public Works Department. They’ve recovered the stolen backhoe. They also discuss using LTAC (Lodging Tax Advisory Committee) money to upgrades trailheads in the north part of the county.

· Meeting adjourned for lunch at 11:41.
