05.20.2025 Tues AM BOCC
Meeting Highlights:
The commissioners OK purchasing approximately $31,000 in equipment for the four members of Search & Rescue’s Dive Team. The money will come from the Local Assistance and Tribal Consistency Fund (LATCF).
The commissioners meet with the Finance Committee. Cash on hand, expenses and tax collections are all normal for this time of year. The county’s investment return is a little higher than was expected.
Josh Thomson, County Engineer, updates the commissioners.The SRS money (first discussed by the BOCC during their April 22, 2025 meeting) is included in the big budget bill now being considered by Congress.
Beavers have made a large dam in the Loup Loup area and some roadways are flooded. The Methow Beaver Project is assisting Public Works with this problem.
Commissioners discuss the many bridges on Hwy 153 between Pateros and Twisp that need repairs, and how to encourage the WSDOT to fix them.
