Meeting Highlights:

  • Andrus Taylor, who has seven licenses to grow cannabis, makes a public comment about the $500 annual renewal fee and being out of compliance with the Building Department.

  • The Commissioners hear the Finance Committee’s report. The county is earning more interest than it expected to when the budget was written.
The Annual Report is almost ready to submit.
Congress hasn’t yet passed the Secure Rural Schools Reauthorization Act, so the county will miss out on approximately $170,000. The county treasurer will try to find out if the Forest Service will pay the usual PILT (Payment in Lieu of Taxes).

  • Mike Fort, Okanogan County Water Conservancy Board member, asks the commissioners if his board could receive approximately $3,000 to $4,000 per year for administrative expenses. The commissioners answer that the budget is stretched very thin, and their answer is “probably no”. They suggest other possible sources of funding.

  • Meeting recessed at 11:27 for lunch.
