Meeting Highlights:
· Public Comment: Skip Wright expresses concern about cutting down trees in Omak along the river.
· Planning Dept update: public information meeting scheduled for May 21st at the Winthrop Barn to talk about the planning and permitting process; discussion about funding the Mazama Advisory Committee.
· HR Update: discussion about background checks on Fair volunteers; funding of new position in Superior Court.
· Fairgrounds update: discussion about whether to invest in new sound system for Agriplex; issues with water system – will need repairs; re-writing fairgrounds rental contracts.
· Maintenance Dept update: Door in Treasurer’s office; who is to blame for incorrect window installation in courthouse building; HVAC unit for jail will arrive in May,
· Fair Advisory Committee (FAC) update: FAC chair reads statement accusing BOCC member Nick Timm of aggressive and unprofessional behavior at recent FAC meeting; Comm. Timm gives his side of the story; volunteer Mike Eggerton who was present and the subject of the alleged aggression gives his side of the story; discussion about design of “no dog” signs that will be posted during the County Fair.
· Interview with prospective LTAC committee member Kirk Gildroy
· Flood Plain Code Update: Discussion about progress made on proposed changes to flood plain code, plans for moving forward with public comment and approval process.
