04.05.22 AM - BOCC

Meeting Highlights: 

Fairgrounds Manager; fee schedule for rental of facility - $75.00 for governmental entities and Fair Queen Fundraising & waiving of rental fee more on the Fair Advisory Committee (FAC) duties and Fair Manager involvement, market stock sale issues - non-profit and auctioneer. One Commissioner to serve on the FAC, Planning Director: considers interns from Planning Department of Western Washington University – wants BOCC opinion, AH stresses caution, Director feels new eyes looking at Comprehensive Plan could prove valuable. Planning Dept is now fully staffed, Discussion of PNW Trail Association and creating possible position, Planning Dept to be meeting with Cannabis & Liquor Control Board regarding their licensing process, especially when it contradicts county zoning, etc. would like better communication with them. Update from Dispatch Communication Manager; 911 phone system upgraded with Okanogan & Skagit Counties as the hosts -other counties to be included, working out some performance issues, otherwise working well, still having HVAC unit problems Compressor is bad & waiting for parts, reports on meeting with fire chiefs and agencies – productive. Interested in utilizing ARPA funds for Incident Command Vehicle. To cost in the $300,000 range – not more than $400,000, also discussion regarding costs of radios. Building Dept filled Administrative Assistant position, will do a lateral transfer to Step 5.
