Meeting Highlights:
· Public comment – citizens voice their concern about the impact of federal budget cuts on Okanogan County residents and about the state of our country. BOCC reassures them that the chaos is temporary, much of it is due to misinformation, everything will get settled out soon and essential programs such as Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid will be fully funded.
· Update on Juvenile Detention medical staffing.
· Fairgrounds manager update – Discussion about options for replacing well at fairgrounds.
· Update on new morgue and Sheriff storage building.
· Report from Okanogan County Behavioral Health: funding challenges; rollout of mobile crisis unit; planning for the future; challenges in hiring and retaining employees.
