02.11.2025 Tues AM BOCC
Meeting Highlights:
Commissioner Hover returns after an illness and learns that the county has been allowing County Watch to record the BOCC meeting using Fathom, an AI note-taking program. He is concerned that the recording could be considered a public record that the county could be responsible for. He will check with the Prosecutor’s Office and Risk Management for advice.
Commissioner Timm tells of his meeting with Friendship Diversion Services, a company that provides pre-trial and sentencing alternatives for some criminal court defendants. He thinks we should use them as much as we can.
Mike Fort and Lisa de Vera of the Okanogan County Water Conservancy Board discuss the county’s funding of expenses not covered by application fees. The BOCC will consider how other counties fund their Water Conservancy Boards and discuss the issue again in April.
Pam Johnson, County Treasurer, reports that the county’s current ending balance is approximately $2,700,000.
Commissioner Hover tells Commissioners Neal and Timm about his meeting with the multi-county WATV (Wheeled All-Terrain Vehicles) working group.
The BOCC goes into executive session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i)—potential litigation for 20 minutes, extended by another 10 minutes. Albert Lin, County Prosecutor and Esther Milner, Chief Civil Deputy Prosecutor, are invited.
Meeting adjourned at 11:12.
