Meeting Highlights:
The commissioners and Lanie Johns, Clerk of the Board, discuss a problem with the Support Center in Okanogan, an entity partially funded by the county’s Homeless Housing Fund. The Center continues to submit its invoices for reimbursement well after the county would like to have them, causing extra work and expense for the county. The county will discuss possible solutions to the problem with the Support Center as soon as a meeting can be scheduled.
Nick Bates updates the commissioners about a boiler not working properly at the Agriplex, and a party that wants the band to be able to play until 1:00 AM. The commissioners disallow music after midnight.
Maurice Goodall, Emergency Management, attended a meeting organized by the DNR. The DNR aims to enhance wildfire preparedness by identifying areas at risk and providing general hazard assessments.
Mike Worden reports to the commissioners that the project to build a new office for the morgue and a storage area for the Sheriff’s Department is almost completed.
Meeting adjourned for the day at 10:16.
