Meeting Highlights: 

  • Planning Director Pete Palmer says the Eastern Washington Airspace Extension is asking for comments about its proposal to lower the floor limit to 300’ in additional areas in the county—mostly in the Methow and the Reservation. The floor limit is already 300’ in some parts of the county. Also, the Department of Ecology wants the county to update its Floodplain regulations.

  • Commissioners hold a 10-minute executive session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(g) to evaluate the performance of a public employee, with Pete Palmer invited.

  • Commissioners hold a 30-minute executive session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(ii) to discuss risks of potential litigation, inviting the Albert Lin, County Prosecutor, Esther Milner, Chief Civil Deputy Prosecutor and Shelley Keitzman, Human Resources and Risk Management.

  • The commissioners were updated on last week’s Courthouse Security Meeting. They are considering buying lockers for courthouse visitors to store items that aren’t allowed in the courtrooms.

  • Mike Worden, Dispatch Center, asks the commissioners to consider hiring a new radio technician and buying a new vehicle.

  • Meeting adjourned at 11:38
