Meeting Highlights:
• Executive Session under 42.30.110.1.i for Potential Litigation with Civil Deputy, HR/Risk Manager for 10 minutes
• BOCC recognizes newly organized Union (removing them from the Teamsters Union) for Sheriffs Dispatchers
• Board considers letter of support/partnership with Pacific Northwest Trails Assn.
• Finance Committee Discussion: end of year -going into 2025 budget. State Audit to do exit conference before the end of the month.
• Sheriff’s Communication Center Director: all positions are currently filled, budgeting for purchase of dual band capable radios for Sheriff’s Office and other departments this is a $2.3 - $2.5 million purchase. BOCC approves Resolution 180-2024.
• Board discusses the zone code hearing comments: water availability, Conditional Use Permits for churches, some things have been in code over 30 years, and how much Planning Department can actually assist customers.
• Solid Waste Program should be available for review in 2025; Green waste program going well. Solid Waste has been awarded a $1.19 million grant, but more information is needed.
• Public Works Update: Still waiting on heaters for shops. Siding is nearly complete. We've gotten an exemption to buying electric for plow trucks – not sure for how long. Not using much overtime.
