Meeting Highlights:
Maurice Goodall, Emergency Management is asked about moving his office to the remodeled upstairs of the Public Health building. He said the move would be OK if the public health bathrooms are separate from the Emergency Management bathrooms, the new space would be properly wired for the Emergency Operations Center, and parking is adequate.
Pete Palmer, Director of Planning says she is fine-tuning the budget for the water-banking grant. She also reports that the tracking software is up and running.
Nick Bates reports that the Good Fix Spay and Neuter clinic at the Agriplex is attracting a lot of people. The line began to form at 3:00 AM for the first-come first-served clinic.
Sheriff Budrow requests an executive session concerning a young woman with medical needs who is in the county jail. Esther Milner, Chief Civil Deputy Prosecutor is included in the 15-minute session held to discuss potential litigation (RCW 42.30.110(1)(i).
The commissioners hold budget sessions for the 2025 budget for the jail and the Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Budrow uses a Power Point presentation to make his case for hiring two more deputies who would be traffic officers.
